MiMi and PaPa Metzgar's 50th Wedding Anniversary

MiMi and PaPa did not want a big party for their 5oth Anniversary. Instead, some of us gathered for a lunch at S & P's Oyster House in Mystic, CT on Sept 6, to mark this amazing day. Papa's sister (Aunt Dina) drove up with Cousin Jim to surprise the newlyweds.


Zora Charles was in fine spirits and was sad not to eat lobster along with MiMi and PaPa, who wore bibs in solidarity with the Z. They ate stuffed lobster on their 50th just as they had on their honeymoon on Cape Cod.




Z needed to get a better look at the scrapbook masterpiece that Aunt Laurel had compiled from all the cards, photos and memorabilia sent in from MiMi and PaPa's friends, so Z climbed on Kent's back, with the help of Aunt Laurel, her trusted sidekick. Z thinks this is a much better view than what she can see from her car seat under the table!

Aunt Nilsa's Big Fat Chicago Wedding part 1

Seth flew in this weekend to surprise Nilsa for her shower. He also surprised Z Charley. Luckily she was sporting her awesome red Nike dress.


Grandma Rise was also in town for the festivities. Zora is way into Aunt Nilsa's new crib.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN BLUES

Zora Charles shares our big love of Colorado. She actually wishes we could spend half our time there, making theater, eating Wahoos and hiking . She really digs Nederland, and hopes to begin freestyle skiing this winter.

We only got to hang in CO a few days in early August while we were in Denver for the ATHE conference. Here she is with Dee and Hattie in Denver, and Sama and Bonnie Sr. in Boulder. Both Sama and Hattie made her laugh and laugh and laugh. Hattie made Zora laugh so hard in the lobby at Curious during a CNV reading that we had to go outside so she wouldn't disturb the show. All Sama had to do was look at her and she seemed to think that was hilarious.
